Heavy traffic is building on a major Sydney road after multi-car pileup before peak hour.
About 7am on Monday, emergency services were called to the westbound lane of the M4 Motorway at Greystanes following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Police attended the scene were they located five vehicles involved in the crash.
A man in his 30s was treated by paramedics for a minor neck injury.
Two of three westbound lanes remain closed at Beresford Rd, causing major delays for peak hour traffic.
Heavy traffic is building with aerial photographs showing traffic piling up on the M4 from Granville to Minchinbury.
An earlier crash on the M4 approaching Prospect Highway, about 5km south of the Greystanes incident, meant that traffic had already began to build on Monday morning.
A two-vehicle crash minutes before the Greystanes crash caused heavy traffic to build on the M4 with one of three westbound lanes closed.
LiveTraffic reported the site was cleared by about 7.20am, but “extensive delays” were expected due to the crash at Greystanes.
Just after 8am, all westbound lanes were reopened on the M4 at Greystanes.
Emergency services remain on-scene in the shoulder of the road.
Motorists are urged to allow plenty of extra travel time as traffic conditions ease.
